The N- and C-termini of Alg14 coordinate recruitment of catalytic Alg7 and Alg13 to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane for initiating lipid-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis.

Data show that a conditional lethal mutation in the alg7 gene was successfully complemented with Mv1751 gene from Methanococcus voltae.
