GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
findings show that the matrix protein Mzm1 functions as a Rip1 chaperone, stabilizing Rip1 prior to the translocation step
Title: Late-stage maturation of the Rieske Fe/S protein: Mzm1 stabilizes Rip1 but does not facilitate its translocation by the AAA ATPase Bcs1.
Mzm1 may function primarily to stabilize Rip1 prior to inner membrane (IM) insertion or alternatively to aid in the presentation of Rip1 to the inner membrane translocation complex for extrusion of the folded domain containing the iron-sulfur center.
Title: The LYR protein Mzm1 functions in the insertion of the Rieske Fe/S protein in yeast mitochondria.
The following MZM1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the MZM1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
