GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Overexpressing the PGU1 gene of S. paradoxus or S. cerevisiae did not make much difference, showing that the higher activity of S. paradoxus strains could be due to a different regulation mechanism rather than to a different sequence of PGU1.
Title: Comparative characterization of endo-polygalacturonase (Pgu1) from Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces paradoxus under winemaking conditions.
The results of this study suggest that PGU1 is silenced by being folded into a heterochromatin-like structure at its subtelomeric position on chromosome X.
Title: Epigenetic regulation of PGU1 transcription in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Expression of PGU1 was found to be determined by the transcription level of its two transcription factors TEC1 and STE12.
Title: Regulation of endo-polygalacturonase activity in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The following PGU1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the PGU1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
