Translational effects of Dom34 required the 5'-UTR of the PMT1 transcript, which bound recombinant Dom34 directly at a CA/AC-rich sequence and regulated in vitro translation. Polysomal profiling revealed that Dom34 stimulates general translation moderately, but that it is especially required for translation of transcripts encoding Pmt isoforms 1, 4 and 6.

PMT1 deficiency enhances basal activity of the ER UPR and extends the RLS of yeast mother cells through a mechanism that requires both IRE1 and HAC1.

Pmt1-Pmt2 Complexes Are Associated with the Translocon Complex in Vivo.
Title: Protein O-mannosyltransferases associate with the translocon to modify translocating polypeptide chains.
Mtl1 O-mannosylation mediated by both Pmt1 and Pmt2 is important for cell survival under oxidative conditions and TOR blockade.

Gas1*p is a substrate for the Pmt1p-Pmt2p complex and is degraded by the ER-associated protein degradation pathway.

The following PMT1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the PMT1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
