Results suggest that endogenous omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in APP/fat-1 mice could efficiently alleviate cognitive impairment and apathetic symptom comparing to their APP littermates. Neuronal survival and astrocytic activation were also observed ameliorated in APP mice after expression of fat-1 gene activated the NF-kappaB/Bcl-2 antiapoptotic pathway and inhibited the inflammatory response.
Title: Enriched endogenous n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids alleviate cognitive and behavioral deficits in a mice model of Alzheimer's disease.
In the present study, endogenously increased levels of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in the tumor tissues of omega3 fatty acid desaturase (fat1) transgenic mice was associated with a reduction in the growth rate of melanoma xenografts.
Title: Endogenously synthesized n-3 fatty acids in fat-1 transgenic mice prevent melanoma progression by increasing E-cadherin expression and inhibiting ?-catenin signaling.
Data (including data from studies in transgenic mice) suggest expression of fat1 prevents experimental rheumatoid arthritis; cultured synoviocytes respond differently to cytokine TNF (tumor necrosis factor-alpha) if recombinant fat1 is expressed.
Title: Endogenous conversion of n-6 to n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids attenuates K/BxN serum-transfer arthritis in fat-1 mice.
data suggest that the central n-3 PUFA increase observed in Fat-1 transgenic mice modulated the brain innate immune system activity .
Title: Transgenic increase in n-3/n-6 fatty acid ratio protects against cognitive deficits induced by an immune challenge through decrease of neuroinflammation.
Data indicate taht age-related impairments in glucose homeostasis are prevented in C. elegans fat-1 transgenic mice.
Title: Elevated tissue omega-3 fatty acid status prevents age-related glucose intolerance in fat-1 transgenic mice.
The following fat-1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the fat-1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
