GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
PAD2 encodes a gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase involved in glutathione synthesis. pad2-1 mutants are glutathione-deficient and are more susceptible to Spodoptera littoralis because of a lower accumulation of glucosinolates.
Title: The glutathione-deficient mutant pad2-1 accumulates lower amounts of glucosinolates and is more susceptible to the insect herbivore Spodoptera littoralis.
The effect of PAD2 mutations on the susceptibility of A. thaliana to bacterial diseases is reported.
Title: Identification of PAD2 as a gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase highlights the importance of glutathione in disease resistance of Arabidopsis.
The following PAD2 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the PAD2 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
