GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Chromatin obstructions activated Aurora B at the spindle midzone, which is needed for the abscission checkpoint in other systems. Condensin I, but not condensin II, localizes to the spindle midzone in anaphase and to the midbody during normal cytokinesis.
Title: Condensin and the spindle midzone prevent cytokinesis failure induced by chromatin bridges in C. elegans embryos.
The results suggest that CDC-48s control the restricted localization of AIR-2 to the cohesion sites of homologous chromatids in meiosis I.
Title: CDC-48/p97 is required for proper meiotic chromosome segregation via controlling AIR-2/Aurora B kinase localization in Caenorhabditis elegans.
LAB-1 directly targets GSP-2 to the chromatin during meiotic onset, thus restricting aberrant AIR-2 accumulation at that stage and promoting normal establishment and maintenance of sister chromatid cohesion.
Title: LAB-1 targets PP1 and restricts Aurora B kinase upon entrance into meiosis to promote sister chromatid cohesion.
During both mitosis and meiosis, the localization of condensin I, but not condensin II, parallels the localization of air2.
Title: Different roles for Aurora B in condensin targeting during mitosis and meiosis.
TLK-1 functions in cytokinesis by localizing AIR-2 to the midzone microtubules.
Title: Caenorhabditis elegans TLK-1 controls cytokinesis by localizing AIR-2/Aurora B to midzone microtubules.
The following air-2 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the air-2 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
