GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Kinetic cross-linking and analysis of cDNAs uncovers a role for Nab3 in determining gene expression profiles during stress.
Title: Kinetic CRAC uncovers a role for Nab3 in determining gene expression profiles during stress.
Study analyzed the functional role of the prion-like low complexity domains (LCDs) of Nab3, which can assemble into a robust amyloid form. Results show that Nab3 LCD can be exchanged for the low complexity regions of other proteins as the prion protein Sup35, or the RNA-binding protein, Hrp1. Also, its C-terminus seems more complex than previously appreciated.
Title: The hnRNP-like Nab3 termination factor can employ heterologous prion-like domains in place of its own essential low complexity domain.
The data raise the intriguing possibility that Nab3 and Nrd1 can function independently to recruit Rrp6 to ncRNA targets, providing combinatorial flexibility in RNA processing.
Title: Nab3 facilitates the function of the TRAMP complex in RNA processing via recruitment of Rrp6 independent of Nrd1.
Rrp6 acts with the NNS complex(Nrd1, Nab3, and Sen1 ) globally to promote transcription termination in addition to 3' end RNA processing and/or degradation at specific targets.
Title: The exosome component Rrp6 is required for RNA polymerase II termination at specific targets of the Nrd1-Nab3 pathway.
Nrd1 and Nab3 function is tightly integrated with the nutrient response, and indicates a role for these proteins in the regulation of many mRNA coding genes.
Title: PAR-CLIP data indicate that Nrd1-Nab3-dependent transcription termination regulates expression of hundreds of protein coding genes in yeast.
The following NAB3 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the NAB3 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
