GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Cells lacking both ECM22 and UPC2 display strong mating defects whereas deletion of either gene has no effect. Ecm22 and Upc2 positively regulate basal expression of PRM1 and PRM4. These genes are strongly induced in response to mating pheromone, which is also largely dependent on ECM22 and UPC2.
Title: Ecm22 and Upc2 regulate yeast mating through control of expression of the mating genes PRM1 and PRM4.
Overexpression of either ECM22 or UPC2 leads to increased filamentation.
Title: The zinc cluster proteins Upc2 and Ecm22 promote filamentation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by sterol biosynthesis-dependent and -independent pathways.
Perinuclear localization of Upc2p-GFP and Ecm22p-GFP was increased when ergosterol biosynthesis was blocked by azole drug treatment.
Title: Cytoplasmic localization of sterol transcription factors Upc2p and Ecm22p in S. cerevisiae.
Upc2p and Ecm22p differ in their contributions to the regulation of their targets
Title: Dual activators of the sterol biosynthetic pathway of Saccharomyces cerevisiae: similar activation/regulatory domains but different response mechanisms.
The following UPC2 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the UPC2 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
