GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
MPK1/SLT2 links multiple stress responses with gene expression in S.cerevisiae by phosphorylating Tyr1 of the RNAP II C terminal domain.
Title: MPK1/SLT2 Links Multiple Stress Responses with Gene Expression in Budding Yeast by Phosphorylating Tyr1 of the RNAP II CTD.
Slt2 form iron/sulphur bridged clusters with Grx3 and Grx4.
Title: Physical interaction between the MAPK Slt2 of the PKC1-MAPK pathway and Grx3/Grx4 glutaredoxins is required for the oxidative stress response in budding yeast.
Report shows that Slt2 is phosphorylated following arsenite treatment. Slt2 and its kinase activity are necessary for full acquisition of arsenite tolerance and this effect appears to be mediated through Fps1. Hence, it appears that two MAPKs, Hog1 and Slt2, collaborate in controlling arsenite influx and efflux through Fps1 suggesting a mechanism where this MAPK collaboration may function on Fps1.
Title: The mitogen-activated protein kinase Slt2 modulates arsenite transport through the aquaglyceroporin Fps1.
These results, together with a genetic correlation analysis, strongly support a functional model linking Slt2 MAP kinase and Pcl1, a Pho85 cyclin-dependent kinase, in septum assembly through Bni4.
Title: Phosphorylation of Bni4 by MAP kinases contributes to septum assembly during yeast cytokinesis.
Mpk1 molecules carrying a mutation in Tyr-268 executed the entire downstream biological function, using mechanisms that do not require activation of catalysis or the catalytic Lys-54 residue. It should be emphasized that although Mpk1(Y268C/A+K54R) and Mpk1(Y268C/A+T190A+Y192F) molecules are biologically active, they rescue mpk1 and mkk1mkk2 cells less efficiently than Mpk1(Y268C/A).
Title: Variants of the yeast MAPK Mpk1 are fully functional independently of activation loop phosphorylation.
The following SLT2 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the SLT2 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
