GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Tem1 activity is tightly controlled in mitosis by Bub2 and Bfa1 and is also regulated by the spindle orientation checkpoint that monitors the correct alignment of the mitotic spindle with the mother-daughter axis. Here is described the purification of Tem1, Bfa1, and Bub2 and a detailed radioactive filter-binding assay to study the nucleotide binding properties of Tem1 and the role of its regulators Bfa1 and Bub2.
Title: In Vitro Analysis of Tem1 GTPase Activity and Regulation by the Bfa1/Bub2 GAP.
Bmh1 is a spindle position checkpoint (SPOC) component that breaks Bfa1 centrosome asymmetry upon SPOC activation.
Title: The 14-3-3 protein Bmh1 functions in the spindle position checkpoint by breaking Bfa1 asymmetry at yeast centrosomes.
Cdc5 induces the asymmetric distribution of Bfa1 to the bud-directed spindle pole body independently of Bfa1 GAP activity at anaphase.
Title: Cdc5-dependent asymmetric localization of bfa1 fine-tunes timely mitotic exit.
A link is confirmed between the subcellular localization pattern of Bfa1 at the spindle pole bodies with cell cycle progression.
Title: Lte1 contributes to Bfa1 localization rather than stimulating nucleotide exchange by Tem1.
there is a GAP-independent surveillance mechanism of Bfa1/Bub2, which, together with the GTP/GDP switch of Tem1, may be required for the genomic stability of cells with misaligned spindles
Title: Different levels of Bfa1/Bub2 GAP activity are required to prevent mitotic exit of budding yeast depending on the type of perturbations.
The following BFA1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the BFA1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
