GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
The MTH1 gene coding for transcription factor in glucose signaling was mutated in a pyruvate decarboxylase (Pdc)-deficient S. cerevisiae expressing heterologous 2,3-butanediol (2,3-BD) biosynthetic genes. The engineered S. cerevisiae strain consumed glucose and galactose simultaneously and produced 2,3-BD as a major product.
Title: Enhanced production of 2,3-butanediol in pyruvate decarboxylase-deficient Saccharomyces cerevisiae through optimizing ratio of glucose/galactose.
Mth1 and Std1, which are downstream effectors of the Snf3/Rgt2 pathway, were required for viability through mitochondrial function but not fermentative metabolism
Title: Disruption of Snf3/Rgt2 glucose sensors decreases lifespan and caloric restriction effectiveness through Mth1/Std1 by adjusting mitochondrial efficiency in yeast.
Data show that Pph3-Psy2 targets the glucose signal transducer protein Mth1, which is required for the dephosphorylation of Rgt1 upon glucose withdrawal, a critical event in the repression of HXT genes, which encode glucose transporters.
Title: Psy2 targets the PP4 family phosphatase Pph3 to dephosphorylate Mth1 and repress glucose transporter gene expression.
Mth1 is a transcriptional corepressor that facilitates the recruitment of Ssn6-Tup1 by Rgt1.
Title: Mth1 regulates the interaction between the Rgt1 repressor and the Ssn6-Tup1 corepressor complex by modulating PKA-dependent phosphorylation of Rgt1.
MTH1 coding sequence has a large capacity for nonsense mutations.
Title: Reciprocal sign epistasis between frequently experimentally evolved adaptive mutations causes a rugged fitness landscape.
The following MTH1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the MTH1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
