GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
In the process of pre-mRNA splicing, Cwc25 binds tightly to the spliceosome after the reaction and is then removed from the spliceosome, which normally requires Prp16 and ATP hydrolysis, to allow the occurrence of the second reaction.
Title: A central role of Cwc25 in spliceosome dynamics during the catalytic phase of pre-mRNA splicing.
Upon step 1 catalysis, Cwc25 contacts with the branch-site region, and enhanced crosslinks of Prp8 and Prp45 with nucleotides surrounding the branch-site were observed.
Title: Dynamic Contacts of U2, RES, Cwc25, Prp8 and Prp45 Proteins with the Pre-mRNA Branch-Site and 3' Splice Site during Catalytic Activation and Step 1 Catalysis in Yeast Spliceosomes.
Cwc25 functions in the final step of the first catalytic reaction after the action of Prp2.
Title: Cwc25 is a novel splicing factor required after Prp2 and Yju2 to facilitate the first catalytic reaction.
The following CWC25 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the CWC25 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
