GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Using a combination of physiological, biochemical and proteomic approaches, we show that during growth at suboptimal potassium concentrations, double trk1,2 mutants accumulate less potassium and reach lower yields.
Title: A physiological, biochemical and proteomic characterization of Saccharomyces cerevisiae trk1,2 transport mutants grown under limiting potassium conditions.
Trk2 is the major potassium uptake system in stationary cells, and potassium content to be a crucial parameter for desiccation survival.
Title: Potassium uptake system Trk2 is crucial for yeast cell viability during anhydrobiosis.
TRK2 overexpression improved the ability of trk1 cells to grow in low K(+) and led to a higher accumulation of K(+).
Title: Trk2 transporter is a relevant player in K+ supply and plasma-membrane potential control in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
TRK2 encodes a functional potassium ion transporter that, under specific experimental conditions, displays distinctive kinetic characteristics.
Title: The yeast potassium transporter TRK2 is able to substitute for TRK1 in its biological function under low K and low pH conditions.
Results indicate that, in addition to their role in regulating Trk1 and 2 potassium transporters, Ppz phosphatases 1 and 2 positively affect the residual low affinity potassium transport mechanisms in yeast.
Title: The Ppz protein phosphatases regulate Trk-independent potassium influx in yeast.
The following TRK2 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the TRK2 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
