Characteristics of exercised-induced collapse in Labrador Retrievers with various DNM1 genotypes were identified in this study; findings may help distinguish homozygous dogs from those with other types of collapse conditions.

The frequency of DNM1 mutant allele carriers in Labrador retrievers ranged from 17.9%-38.0% and the frequency of homozygous mutant (EE genotype) individuals ranged from 1.8%-13.6%; 83.6% of EE Labradors were reported to have collapsed by age 4 years.
