GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Data present crystal structures of yNup170(979-1502) and hNup107(658-925) x hNup133(517-1156), and conservation of domain arrangement and of tertiary structure suggests that Nup157/170 and Nup133 derived from a common ancestor.
Title: Architectural nucleoporins Nup157/170 and Nup133 are structurally related and descend from a second ancestral element.
NUP157 and NUP170 are required for formation of the pore membrane and the incorporation of cytoplasmic nucleoporins into forming nuclear pore complexes.
Title: The nucleoporins Nup170p and Nup157p are essential for nuclear pore complex assembly.
By in vitro reconstitution, we demonstrate that Nup157 forms a nucleoporin subcomplex with Nup145N. Moreover, we show that Nup157 binds to the heptameric Nup84 complex.
Title: Reconstitution of Nup157 and Nup145N into the Nup84 complex.
The following NUP157 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the NUP157 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
