GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Data show that the pheromone-responsive G protein subunits beta/gamma (Gbetagamma; STE4/STE18) dimer promotes the polarization of the pheromone receptor by interacting with casein kinases 1 or 2 (Yck1/2) and locally inhibiting receptor phosphorylation.
Title: G? promotes pheromone receptor polarization and yeast chemotropism by inhibiting receptor phosphorylation.
These results indicate that chemoattractant-induced cell polarization requires continuous receptor-Galphabetagamma communication but not modulation of MAP kinase signaling.
Title: Distinct roles for two Galpha-Gbeta interfaces in cell polarity control by a yeast heterotrimeric G protein.
The following STE18 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the STE18 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
