Staphylococcal Protein A binds strongly and specifically to the Fc region of immunoglobulin molecules, particularly IgG. The product contains five high-affinity binding sites capable of interacting with the Fc region of IgG in humans, rabbits, pigs, and other species. Biotin-Protein A, which is produced by covalently linking biotin to protein A, can be used in immunodetections, such as immunoblotting (western or dot blot), ELISA, and immunohistochemistry.

Properties
Formulation Liquid, 2mg/ml in PBS (pH7.4) containing 10mg/ ml BSA ans 0.02% sodium azide.
Storage Store at 4°C for short periods of time, one month or shorter. Aliquot and store at -20°C for longer periods. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Prolonged storage may result in slight precipitation, so clarify the solution by centrifugation before use.

Applications
Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by titration assay.
