Rho4 and Rho5 deletion cells exhibited the vic phenotype and cell wall integrity defects, shared phenotypes among the components of the Pmk1 MAPK pathway.
Title: Geranylgeranyltransferase Cwg2-Rho4/Rho5 module is implicated in the Pmk1 MAP kinase-mediated cell wall integrity pathway in fission yeast.
Results suggest that the small GTPase Rho5 has an overlapping function with the small GTPase Rho1 in controlling cell growth and division.
