GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Mex67-Mtr2 functions in primary nuclear export for a subset of yeast tRNAs
Title: Sharing the load: Mex67-Mtr2 cofunctions with Los1 in primary tRNA nuclear export.
This study describes the mechanism of recruitment of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae RNA-export receptor Mex67-Mtr2 to the pre-60S subunit at the proper time. Mex67-Mtr2 binds at the premature ribosomal-stalk region, which later during translation serves as a binding platform for translational GTPases on the mature ribosome.
Title: Ribosome-stalk biogenesis is coupled with recruitment of nuclear-export factor to the nascent 60S subunit.
show that the NTF2-like domain from Saccharomyces cerevisiae Mex67:Mtr2 also contributes to RNA binding
Title: Domain organization within the nuclear export factor Mex67:Mtr2 generates an extended mRNA binding surface.
Thus Mex67-Mtr2 is a unique transport receptor that employs a common interaction surface to participate in the nuclear export of both pre-ribosomal subunits and mRNAs
Title: Role of Mex67-Mtr2 in the nuclear export of 40S pre-ribosomes.
Data indicate that Edc3p-mediated YRA1 pre-mRNA decay occurs independently of translation and also requires Mex67p.
Title: Degradation of YRA1 Pre-mRNA in the cytoplasm requires translational repression, multiple modular intronic elements, Edc3p, and Mex67p.
The following MEX67 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the MEX67 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
