GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Gis2 is a component of two large RNA-protein granules, processing bodies and stress granules, which contain translationally repressed mRNAs.
Title: Yeast Gis2 and its human ortholog CNBP are novel components of stress-induced RNP granules.
These data suggest that Gis2 is functionally orthologous to ZNF9 and acts as a cap-independent translation factor.
Title: Saccharomyces cerevisiae Gis2 interacts with the translation machinery and is orthogonal to myotonic dystrophy type 2 protein ZNF9.
The following GIS2 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the GIS2 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
