GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Cells lacking both ECM22 and UPC2 display strong mating defects whereas deletion of either gene has no effect. Ecm22 and Upc2 positively regulate basal expression of PRM1 and PRM4. These genes are strongly induced in response to mating pheromone, which is also largely dependent on ECM22 and UPC2.
Title: Ecm22 and Upc2 regulate yeast mating through control of expression of the mating genes PRM1 and PRM4.
Cys(120) in loop 1 and Cys(545) in loop 2 form disulfide cross-links in the Prm1 homodimer and are required for fusion activity
Title: Prm1 functions as a disulfide-linked complex in yeast mating.
Kex2 and Kex1 may promote cell fusion by proteolytically processing substrates that act in parallel to Prm1 as an alternative fusion machine, as cell wall components, or both.
Title: The Golgi-resident protease Kex2 acts in conjunction with Prm1 to facilitate cell fusion during yeast mating.
Prm1 protein stabilizes the membrane fusion event of yeast mating
Title: Prm1 prevents contact-dependent lysis of yeast mating pairs.
The following PRM1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the PRM1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
