GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Study found that Nap1 efficiently promotes disassembly of adjacent nucleosomes with which RSC collides and not the disassembly of nucleosomes mobilized by RSC. These results suggests a mechanism by which Nap1 is recruited to actively transcribed regions and assists in the passage of the transcription complex through chromatin, and it provides a novel mechanism for the coordinated action of RSC and Nap1.
Title: Coordinated Action of Nap1 and RSC in Disassembly of Tandem Nucleosomes.
A Nap1 dimer provides an acidic binding surface and asymmetrically engages a single H2A-H2B heterodimer.
Title: Structural evidence for Nap1-dependent H2A-H2B deposition and nucleosome assembly.
Nap1 is essential for maintaining proper chromatin composition and modulating the exchange of H2A-H2B in vivo.
Title: Histone Chaperone Nap1 Is a Major Regulator of Histone H2A-H2B Dynamics at the Inducible GAL Locus.
these results define the distinct roles for histone chaperones Chz1 and Nap1 to regulate Htz1 incorporation into chromatin.
Title: Distinct roles for histone chaperones in the deposition of Htz1 in chromatin.
Nap1 and DNA directly compete for H2A-H2B histones. Nap1 stabilizes the fold of H2A-H2B histones
Title: Chaperone Nap1 shields histone surfaces used in a nucleosome and can put H2A-H2B in an unconventional tetrameric form.
The following NAP1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the NAP1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
