GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Pan3 functions to supply the exonuclease Pan2 with substrate poly(A) RNA, facilitating efficient mRNA deadenylation.
Title: Structural basis for Pan3 binding to Pan2 and its function in mRNA recruitment and deadenylation.
PAN2 and PAN3 are not required for mRNA poly(A) tail length control during de novo synthesis but may act in conjuction with Pab1p at a later stage in mRNA metabolism.
Title: Yeast mRNA Poly(A) tail length control can be reconstituted in vitro in the absence of Pab1p-dependent Poly(A) nuclease activity.
Accumulation of polyadenylated mRNAs at sites of transcription occurs in strains lacking the PAN2 or PAN3 subunits of the poly(A) nuclease PAN. PAN is identified as an important factor that couples 3' processing of pre-mRNAs to export.
Title: Yeast poly(A)-binding protein, Pab1, and PAN, a poly(A) nuclease complex recruited by Pab1, connect mRNA biogenesis to export.
The following PAN3 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the PAN3 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
