GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
studied the genome-wide binding patterns of Nhp6, Hmo1 and the SWI/SNF complex, finding that most of gene promoters presenting high occupancy of this complex also display high enrichment of these HMG proteins.
Title: Role of Nhp6 and Hmo1 in SWI/SNF occupancy and nucleosome landscape at gene regulatory regions.
Nhp6 proteins, the HMGB1 homologues, control histone gene expression by affecting nucleosome stability at regulative regions of the histone clusters. In addition, we observe that histone gene overexpression in the nhp6ab mutant is accompanied by downregulated translation, which in turn is responsible for the histone decrease phenotype.
Title: A novel role for Nhp6 proteins in histone gene regulation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The yeast HMG box protein NHP6A shows DNA-segment-facilitated dissociation effects similar to those of Fis.
Title: DNA-Segment-Facilitated Dissociation of Fis and NHP6A from DNA Detected via Single-Molecule Mechanical Response.
adapt two high-resolution in vivo protein-mapping techniques to demonstrate direct binding of the heterologous Nhp6A protein at a LacI repression loop in living E. coli cells
Title: High-resolution mapping of architectural DNA binding protein facilitation of a DNA repression loop in Escherichia coli.
This effect is specific, and the Sir2 deacetylase activity is required for the Sir2 mediated repression of NHP6A. Moreover, the presence of the SIR complex seems required for Sir2 to silence NHP6A.
Title: Sir2 is involved in the transcriptional modulation of NHP6A in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The following NHP6A gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the NHP6A cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
