Previously uncharacterized lysine-specific methyltransferase FAM86A and Yjr129c introduce a functionally important lysine methylation in eEF2.

Deletion of EFM2 or EFM3 increased sensitivity to translation inhibitors, indicating changes in the ability for EF2 to interact and communicate with ribosomal components.
