GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
Genetic dissection of prospore membrane closure finds SPS1 and SPO77 act in parallel to a previously described pathway of prospore membrane closure that involves AMA1, an activator of the meiotic anaphase promoting complex.
Title: Timely Closure of the Prospore Membrane Requires SPS1 and SPO77 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Study shows that an extended prophase I additionally requires the suppression of latent, mitotic cell-cycle controls by the anaphase-promoting complex (APC/C) and its meiosis-specific activator Ama1, which trigger the degradation of M phase regulators and Ndd1, a subunit of a mitotic transcription factor.
Title: Meiotic prophase requires proteolysis of M phase regulators mediated by the meiosis-specific APC/CAma1.
These results demonstrate that APC(Ama1) functions to coordinate the exit from meiosis II with cytokinesis.
Title: The anaphase promoting complex targeting subunit Ama1 links meiotic exit to cytokinesis during sporulation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Cdc28 and Ama1 function in a pathway to trigger Smk1-dependent steps in spore morphogenesis.
Title: The Ama1-directed anaphase-promoting complex regulates the Smk1 mitogen-activated protein kinase during meiosis in yeast.
Chromosome segregation in meiosis depends on the selective inhibition of a meiosis-specific form of the APC/C-Ama1.
Title: The yeast APC/C subunit Mnd2 prevents premature sister chromatid separation triggered by the meiosis-specific APC/C-Ama1.
The following AMA1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the AMA1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
