GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
During 40S ribosome biogenesis Fap7 links formation of a translation intermediate to release of the assembly factor Dim1. Bypassing Fap7 increases frameshifting.
Title: The ATPase Fap7 Tests the Ability to Carry Out Translocation-like Conformational Changes and Releases Dim1 during 40S Ribosome Maturation.
The authors demonstrate that Fap7, a conserved ATPase, pre-organizes interactions between neighboring ribosomal proteins uS11 and eS26 through native-like tertiary contacts prior to their delivery to the 90S ribosome. Subsequently, Fap7 ATPase activity concurrently integrates the uS11:eS26 subcomplex into the 90S.
Title: Prefabrication of a ribosomal protein subcomplex essential for eukaryotic ribosome formation.
Fap7 chaperones Rps14 assembly into pre-40S particles via RNA mimicry in an ATP-dependent manner.
Title: RNA mimicry by the fap7 adenylate kinase in ribosome biogenesis.
Fap7 mediates cleavage of the 20S pre-rRNA at site D by directly interacting with Rps14
Title: The putative NTPase Fap7 mediates cytoplasmic 20S pre-rRNA processing through a direct interaction with Rps14.
The following FAP7 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the FAP7 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
