GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
The dual functionality of Ddi1-ubiquitin-like domain, capable of binding both ubiquitin and proteasome, suggests an intriguing mechanism for Ddi1 as a proteasomal shuttle.
Title: DNA-damage-inducible 1 protein (Ddi1) contains an uncharacteristic ubiquitin-like domain that binds ubiquitin.
The current study identifies residues in the LRR1 domain of Rpn1 that contribute to shuttle receptor docking. It validates Ddi1 as a proteasomal shuttle receptor whose stable binding to the proteasome depends on Rpn1 residue D517.
Title: Identification of a functional docking site in the Rpn1 LRR domain for the UBA-UBL domain protein Ddi1.
Results substantiate the hypothesis that Ddi1 functions in vivo as a catalytically-active aspartic proteinase.
Title: The retroviral proteinase active site and the N-terminus of Ddi1 are required for repression of protein secretion.
Ddi1 participates in multiple cellular processes via its different domains and phosphorylation may regulate exocytic functions
Title: Different domains of the UBL-UBA ubiquitin receptor, Ddi1/Vsm1, are involved in its multiple cellular roles.
However, our results revealed that Ddi1p and its associated protein Rad23p are not involved in the decrease in Pho81p level under high-phosphate condition.
Title: Ddi1p and Rad23p play a cooperative role as negative regulators in the PHO pathway in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The following DDI1 gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the DDI1 cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
