Target Background

Bevacizumab (Avastin) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of a number of types of cancers and a specific eye disease. Bevacizumab binds a continuous epitope in VEGF, preventing interaction of VEGF with VEGFR on the surface of endothelial cells.
